I phoned up our draftsperson to get some answers to the post height problem that has all but stopped construction. I'm glad to say that it seems I am not going mad and there was a miscalculation. He's going to talk to Brian and between them work out the best way to proceed. Excellent. I'm not just suffering from a case of inexperiencedbuilderitis. So that left me with the task of finishing off setting out the bottom plates for the internal walls. All completed, they now show every room in the house in their final proportions. It's looking like a great layout I must say. We will not regret the completed house and it will be a totally unique home to live in.
Tomorrow I'm looking at finally bracing any stumps over a certain height, this is a fairly simple affair consisting of measuring the sizes I'll need, buying the timber, cutting it and nailing it. Then I'm off for a spot of window shopping. Yes I have to look at (and maybe even through) some windows in Ballarat so an afternoon drive is on the cards. I've been working from catalogues and phone conversations so far and I really need to see these things to properly get my head around what's available.
Tragically I can't remember the way I ended this blog before I lost it to the cyber space black hole. Sad that, because it was the funniest and most clever end to a blog ever, I suspect. Oh well, easy come, easy go.
