Hot days on the deck
The weather lately has been pretty toasty, quite often 35˚, so it might seem odd to be working outside while the temperature stays cooler inside. But while there is decking to do, there is enough enjoyment to help me forget about the heat. The results are quite instant and it's very cool putting together different sized, patterned and shaded pieces of recycled timber.
I expect to finish the last of it today and then get back to ceiling. I need to put up the last of the insulation and fit sizalation and battens to most rooms still. The list of tasks needed to get our Certificate of Occupancy is slowly growing smaller and thanks to lots of help from friends we should get in before our building insurance runs out. It is an expensive business insuring an unfinished house and we've already extended a couple of times with the hope that we may have been in some time ago. All we can do is keep working.
My state of mind can be quite well hinted at by a dream I had. We've had disrupted sleep lately taking care of Dylan and I dreamt that I was trying to work out how to use nappies as deck joists. Somehow it just wasn't working for me.
