Mel and Matt have come to help a few times lately and they always do great work with a smile and many jokes. And patience for my jokes. I can't help myself. Logan's company was greatly enjoyed, he has spent quite a few of his days off helping with our build and I really appreciate his skills, attitude and Kiwiness! As with all people who help us build and have their own straw bale aspirations, I hope that experience gained with us will contribute to his own project. I have about one day more left of plaster boarding to complete the basic installation which is necessary to give us one side of walls which need wire and stuffing on the other side. Then of course they need rendering. We are hoping to get to as much of this rendering as possible before the second coat goes on. But wherever we are will be fine.
Today I worked on preparing the exterior subfloor area for render, which means providing a surface to attach cement sheeting to which will then have the dripline attached. This is one of those jobs where an extra set of hands would help, but since I only have 2 hands I've been using a clamp instead. It's been a fun day, although I've been a bit sluggish with lack of sleep and warm weather. Tonight it will be an early night!
